The Nigerian army has announced the capture of another wanted Boko Haram kingpin along the Borno-Adamawa border on Friday.
The suspect, Abdullahi Abubakar, who is number 58 on the list of 100 wanted Boko Haram terrorists released by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, was arrested by vigilant troops at the Uba Askira area along the border between the insurgency-devastated states.
Abubakar is currently undergoing interrogation at a secure military facility.
Confirming the development, the Brigade Commander of the 28 Task Force Brigade in Mubi, Adamawa State, Brig.-Gen. Victor Ezugwu, said indeed a Boko Haram kingpin was arrested by troops but refused to provide further details.
As at the time of publishing this report, the Army Headquarters, Abuja, was yet to make any official pronouncement on the matter.
