The Nigerian Army has announced significant achievements in its operations in the North-West region, including the elimination of 10 terrorists and the arrest of a notorious bandit leader.
The Information Officer of the Joint Task Force, Operation Hadarin Daji, Capt. Yagata Ibrahim, disclosed this in a statement released on Saturday in Gusau.
According to Ibrahim, the troops conducted successful clearance operations in Zamfara, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Katsina States, resulting in the arrest of arms smugglers and the recovery of ammunition.

He highlighted the army’s commitment to ongoing coordinated dry season operations in the region.
In a recent operation on January 26th, the troops cleared and destroyed terrorists’ hideouts in Pada, Matso-Matso, and Yurlumu villages in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
During this operation, seven terrorists were neutralized, while others fled with gunshot wounds.
Additionally, troops in Zamfara conducted a fighting patrol that led to the neutralization of two terrorists in Getso and Ubaka villages under Maru Local Government Area.
The army recovered an AK-47 rifle, a magazine, 7.62mm special ammunition, and two motorcycles during the operation.
The Nigerian Army’s successful operations demonstrate its commitment to combating insurgency and banditry in the North-West region, as well as its efforts to maintain peace and security in affected areas.
