Major General Mohammed Aminu Abdullahi, the Commandant of Depot Nigerian Army, has announced that approximately 12,500 soldiers were trained in the year 2023.
He emphasized that these trained soldiers are currently playing significant roles in the defense and security of Nigeria.
Speaking at the 2023 West African Social Activities (WASA) held at the depot parade ground in Zaria, Major General Mohammed Aminu Abdullahi disclosed that the trained soldiers were deployed to various operations and units within the Nigerian Army.

He also mentioned that another round of training is underway for the 86th Regular Recruits Intake.
“In 2024, Depot Nigerian Army will redouble efforts in line with the philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff, which is to transform the Army towards achieving its constitutional responsibilities in a joint environment,” Major General Abdullahi stated.
Brigadier-General Aliyu Jibril, the Special Guest of Honour and Commandant of the Nigerian Army School of Military Police, emphasized the importance of professionalism and adherence to the military’s core values, including loyalty, selfless service, courage, discipline, and respect for others.
Addressing the officers and soldiers, Brigadier-General Jibril encouraged them to remain focused and resilient despite distractions, underscoring the critical role of the military in maintaining peace and stability across Nigeria.
He also assured of the Nigerian Army’s unwavering commitment to upholding the highest standards of conduct and effectiveness in all operational tasks.
