A cleric, Mr. Kayode Ogunleye, was killed by gunmen who dumped his body in a forest on the Aramoko-Ijero-Ekiti highway in Ekiti.
The Nigeria News Agency (NAN) reports that the pastor’s lifeless body, who was also a staff member of the Ekiti West Local Government Area in Ekiti, was discovered on his farm near the forest.
Sources revealed that while working on his farm, Kayode Ogunleye, working for the All Christian Fellowship Church, was murdered.
Kayode Ogunleye was said to have been shot dead at his plantation while attempting to harvest bananas.
Ogunleye’s murder was characterised as barbaric by one of the sources, who pleaded anonymity, calling on security agencies to fish out the killers.
The Ekiti Police Command Public Relations Officer, Mr. Sunday Abutu, confirmed the incident, claiming that it was a suspected murder case. (NAN)
