The Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Hadiza Bala Usman has spoken on the reduction of customs duty by the Nigerian government.
Hadiza Bala Usman stated that the customs duty reduction constitute a part of the new Financial Bill presented by President Muhammadu Buhari before the National Assembly for consideration.
The Managing Director, explained that the cargo is being examined manually because functional scanners are not available at the ports. She however reiterated that the Nigerian Customs will make sure scanners are provided for the purpose.
Hadiza Bala Usman also addressed the Nigerian Ports Authority’s relationship with Intels in respect of compliance with the Treasury Single Account, the expired Service Boats Monitoring contract etc.
