The wife of Nigerian President, Hajia Aisha Buhari has urged Nigerians to encourage and support girl-child education, in order to enhance their lives and national development.
She stated this when she visited the Army Day Secondary School at Mambilla Barracks in Abuja recently. Aisha noted that when you educate a woman, you educate a nation. Adding, any nation without quality education would affect the future of the younger generation. She also advised students to be hardworking and urged parents to encourage their children to acquire qualitative knowledge to better their livelihood. “I will support all efforts aimed at improving the standard of education in Nigeria,” she said.
Earlier in his remarks, the Permanent Secretary in the Federal Capital Territory Administration, John Chukwu (Engr) commended her for the initiative and for choosing one of the FCT schools for the visit.
