The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, Kano State Command, has arrested three men in connection with separate alleged cases of car theft and cable vandalism in the state.
Two of the suspects, identified as 61-year-old Abdullahi Sani and 63-year-old Abdullahi Suleiman, were arrested during a routine patrol at Ladanai Junction along the Eastern Bypass in Kano.

The Kano State Commandant of the NSCDC, Mohammed Agalama, disclosed the arrests on Friday, October 2, 2026, during a briefing at the command’s headquarters.
According to him, the suspects were intercepted at about 2:10am while allegedly driving a red Toyota Carina II Wagon with registration number LFA 417 AA, registered in Nasarawa State.
Agalama said the vehicle had reportedly been stolen three days before the suspects were intercepted.
Sani is said to be a resident of Kurna Tudun Bojuwa, while Suleiman resides in Kantudu, both in Dala Local Government Area of Kano State.
In a separate operation, NSCDC operatives arrested 45-year-old Suleiman Shehu at Bompai in Nassarawa Local Government Area over the alleged vandalism of an armoured cable belonging to Triumph Nigeria Limited.
The command said Shehu is an employee of the company and was arrested after allegedly vandalising the cable.
The three suspects are currently in custody and undergoing preliminary investigations to establish the circumstances surrounding the alleged offences and determine their possible involvement.
The NSCDC said the suspects would be prosecuted upon completion of the investigation.
Agalama commended the operatives for their vigilance and professionalism, stressing the importance of routine patrols and intelligence-driven operations in preventing and tackling criminal activities.
He assured residents that the command would continue to work with other security agencies and members of the public to protect lives and property across the state.
The command also urged residents to remain vigilant and provide credible information on suspicious activities to security agencies.
