The dissolution of the 17 Local Government caretaker committees is coming on the heels of the suspension of four commissioners by the Governor.
According to the Special Adviser on Electronic Media, Mr. Simeon Nwakaudu, the dissolution takes effect immediately.
Nwakaudu, in a statement, said “Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has dissolved the Caretaker Committees of 17 Local Government Areas of the state.
“The dissolution of the caretaker committees takes immediate effect.”
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers State also said Wike cannot be impeached.
