Just after INEC resumed collation of results in the Rivers state governorship election that took place recently, PDP in Rivers State has said they are set for a remarkable victory after the exercise.
PDP recently warned the electoral officer in charge of the state to not tamper with results of Rivers State because the people had already exercised their franchise in favor of Nyesom Wike.
Speaking recently, National Publicity Secretary of the party, Kola Ologbondiyan, said from the result that had been counted, Nyesom Wike has already emerge victorious.
His words, “We are waiting for INEC to announce winner of the election in Rivers. This is the same election that has already produced state lawmakers. We don’t know why the governorship poll has suddenly become difficult for them to do.
“From the results already collated, our candidate is clearly ahead. So, we call on the umpire to its job and announce the winner without further delay.”
“We showed our strength in Adamawa, Benue, Plateau, Sokoto, Bauchi and Nasarawa states and we reiterate the fact that our popularity with the people is the reason they gave their mandate to our governorship candidates in these states.
“The people are waiting anxiously for INEC to do the needful. The electorate in these states know their rights and they are not prepared to be shortchanged. The earlier those who think they are too powerful to the right thing realise this, the better it will be for us all,”
