Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, former spokesperson for the defunct new Peoples Democratic Party (nPDP), has made bold assertions regarding the political future of Nyesom Wike, the immediate past Governor of Rivers State.
According to Eze, Wike’s aspirations to become the “jagaban” (a colloquial term for a political leader) of Rivers State have come to an end.
Eze declared that Wike is no longer relevant in the political landscape of Rivers State and Nigeria at large.

He cited Wike’s well-known antecedents and cautioned that anyone choosing to align with him does so at their own risk.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Eze expressed surprise at President Bola Tinubu’s involvement in what he described as undemocratic actions during the Rivers State Peace Accord between Governor Fubara and Nyesom Wike.
He questioned President Tinubu’s democratic credentials and accused him of turning his back on the Nigerian constitution and the people of Rivers State to appease Wike.
Eze further alleged that President Tinubu and his team strategically plotted actions to undermine Wike’s political standing, effectively thwarting his ambitions to become the “Tinubu of Rivers State.”
He commended President Tinubu for allegedly diminishing Wike’s political influence and saving Rivers State from what he termed Wike’s “nuisance.”
According to Eze, the current state of affairs in Rivers State is characterized by “graveyard peace,” which he believes will be resisted by the state’s elders, youths, and citizens.
He reiterated that Wike’s political relevance has dwindled due to his known history, emphasizing that Rivers State can never be like Lagos.
Eze’s remarks underscore a growing sentiment regarding the evolving political dynamics in Rivers State and the perceived decline of Wike’s influence.
His statements also reflect the ongoing political maneuvering and power struggles within the state, setting the stage for potential shifts in its political landscape.
