President Muhammadu Buhari is celebrating with the Awujale of Ijebu Kingdom, Oba Sikiru Adetona, on his 60th anniversary on the throne.
As per a recent statement by Buhari’s spokesman, Mr. Femi Adesina, the anniversary makes Adetona one of the oldest reigning monarchs in the country, following his formal coronation on April 2, 1960.
According to PMB, indigenes of Ijebu land, government and people of Ogun State should all celebrate the milestone for upholding the history and tradition of his forefathers, especially the highly organized political, economic and social structures that preceded several civilizations in Africa.
He added that Oba Sikiru’s exposure, knowledge, and charisma before ascending the position massively impacted and expanded the influence of the domain in such a way that he now counsels other traditional rulers and state governments.
Congrats to him.
