Last December, the people of Ogu-Bolo the largest community in Rivers’ State, marked the 5th Anniversary of Ogu Festival, and in custom celebration, a Peace Concert was held at Ogu to raise a toast to half a decade of harmonious peace in the communities since 2009.
AY, I Go Dye, Seyilaw, Prince Hezekiah, Pencil and Whale Mouth were comedians who hit their comic bests and split-sides on the night ensuring that hitherto contending brothers laugh over Champagnes and more hysterically, and over one another’s shoulders.
After the Comedy Stretch, Headie’s Revelation of the Year, Sean Tizzle, lit-up the Stage with show-stopping songs in the tunes of Sho Le, and Mama E. Then, Burna Boy bounced on stage for a crowd-thrilling enactment.
And just before the end-of-the-year-partying community dispersed, AY presented on stage, the Limpopo King and undisputed Pull-Over Champion – KCEE, for an eclectic and roof-raising performance to wrap up another electrifying night peaceful-fun.
Speaking after the Concert, Dick Willy the President of Ogu Focus Group, organisers of the Concert said: “For 5years, we have mastered the act of warranting sustainable Peace in Ogu-Bolo. We know our people are absolute Merry –Makers, having Fun is for us a second skin. So above hate, malice, violent, and hurt, we threw up one of the many great things that unify us. The result is half a decade of lasting peace within the Communities.”
“Of course,” Wike said in conclusion, “we dedicate this Peace-Achievement to the great fun-loving people of Ogu-Bolo Community.”
