It appears the Ogun 2023 governorship race is gradually taking shape as Ladi Adebutu obtained the nomination form of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to contest for the state’s number one seat.
InfoStride News learnt that Adebutu obtained the PDP nomination form on Thursday, making him the first governorship aspirant to do so.
Recall that the PDP, at its 95th National Executive Committee (NEC) Meeting on Wednesday announced the commencement of sale of nomination forms ahead of primary elections
Speaking after purchasing his form, the former House of Representatives member explained that the decision was a collective one by all the party stakeholders, leaders and followers in Ogun.
According to him, “the journey to liberate Ogun residents and deliver the state from the shackles of the APC has formally started today.”
Meanwhile, the spokesman of the Atiku Abubakar 2019 Presidential Campaign, Showunmi, said he has heeded the voices of those calling on him to contest the 2023 governorship election.
Showunmi said he had discovered that he himself remains the good leader he had been searching for.
Our correspondent reports that the duo of Adebutu and Showunmi are contesting under the platform of the PDP.
So far, only Mrs Modele Sarafa-Yusuf has indicated interest to contest under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
