Ogun NUJ Information Chapel Press Week Kicks Off Tuesday

Activities marking the 2014 press week of the Ogun State Ministry of Information Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists with the theme “ Dialogue As a Means of Promoting Harmony in Socio-Political Economy: Role of the Media”start next Tuesday 22nd

 

A statement by the Chairman of the Press Week Planning Committee, Mr. Passover Adeshina indicated that the official opening slated for the day would be declared opened by the State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun at the Spices Hall, 1st Avenue, beside Housing Corporation, Ibara Abeokuta beginning at 10 a.m..

 

The statement added that a Sports / Cultural Day holds the following day, Wednesday, 23rd April at the June 12 Cultural Centre Fun Park beginning at 12pm. On Thursday, 24th, members would embark on carnival/ sensitization trek from Kuto Roundabout to Ijaye to sensitize people on taxes, security, road safety and social responsibility by 9 a.m. They will also visit the General Hospital Ijaye to present gifts to the sick and new born babies.

 

On Friday 25th, a commemorative Jumat service is slated for the Governor’s Office, Oke –Mosan at 1:30pm this will be followed by a gala/ award and investiture nite at the Valley View Auditorium starting at 5:00pm.

 

A thanksgiving service, the statement noted will hold on Sunday, 27th at Treasure House of God, Quarry road, Abeokuta by 7:30am to round off the week long programme.
