The Ohanaeze Ndigbo has advised Igbo youths against participating in the planned nationwide protest against the federal government led by President Bola Tinubu.
This caution comes amidst the current hardships experienced by Nigerians.
Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the President-General of Ohanaeze, warned that Igbo youths face arrest and prosecution with serious charges when they join protests against the Nigerian government.

In Enugu, Iwuanyanwu described the current economic crisis in Nigeria as unfortunate, stating his intention to convene a meeting of top Igbo economists and experts to strategize on overcoming the hardships.
“As your leader, I am directing that no Igbo group or community in Nigeria or the diaspora should join any protest against this government,” he said.
He also highlighted the preferential treatment given to youths from other tribes compared to Igbo youths in similar circumstances, citing the arrest and detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as an example.
Iwuanyanwu emphasized the Igbo’s preference for a democratic government where views can be expressed, urging caution and strategic planning to address the current challenges.
