The Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to decisively tackle the insecurity plaguing the nation.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the National President of the group, Mazi Okwu Nnabuike, warned President Tinubu to avoid what he termed as the “Goodluck Jonathan treatment” by acting swiftly.
Nnabuike expressed concern over the recent spate of abductions in the country, particularly within the last two weeks, which he believes is a deliberate attempt to undermine the government’s credibility.

He drew parallels with the Chibok abduction during Goodluck Jonathan’s administration, noting that the government failed to act decisively, leading to international embarrassment.
According to Nnabuike, the current trend of kidnapping schoolchildren is not just about ransom but also aims to discredit the government and portray it as incompetent on the international stage.
He called on President Tinubu to take bold action by issuing a clear ultimatum to security heads. Should they fail to deliver results within the specified time frame, Nnabuike urged the president to dismiss them.
He emphasized that swift action is necessary to prevent further embarrassment and potential relocation of the abducted schoolchildren to neighboring countries.
Nnabuike concluded by warning that any delay in addressing the insecurity situation could lead to dire consequences, urging President Tinubu to learn from past mistakes and take decisive action to protect the nation and its citizens.
