Super Falcons head coach, Edwin Okon has named his final 18-man squad for the All Africa Games (AAG) qualifying match against mali on Saturday at the Stade Modibbo Keita in Bamako.

The winners of the two-legged encounter will automatically qualify for the football event of the upcoming quadrennial multiple sports fiesta in Congo Brazzaville.

Falcons captain, Evelyn Nwabuoku, Francisca Ordega, Osinachi Ohale, Ini Umotong, Ibubeleye Whyte, Chinwendu Ihezuo, among others made the final cut.

Okon said the players were chosen on their merit and will certainly deliver the goods against the West African foes.

“Fitness level as exhibited in trainings and warm-up matches were the main criteria used to select the players for the clash against mali.

“I believe they’re the best at the moment that will give us the desired result we wanted in Bamako.

“I’ve absolute confidence in the players to deliver the goods safely at the right time.

“We want to qualify for the All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville as well as excel at the championship so all the players were chosen strictly on merit.

“We’ll be aiming for a convincing win that will make the reverse fixture in Nigeria a mere formality,” said the head coach of Rivers Angels to supersport.com.

The team are expected to depart the nation’s shores on Thursday aboard an Ethiopian Airline flight to arrive in Bamako on Friday for the crucial clash on Saturday.
