The Olowu of Kuta, Oba Hameed Adekunle Oyelude Makama, has issued a stern warning against the politicization of the Department of State Services (DSS) activities, urging individuals to refrain from baseless allegations and narratives that could tarnish the reputation of DSS officers.
In a statement released on Sunday, the monarch responded to reports alleging financial misconduct by the DSS Director General, Yusuf Bichi.
Oba Makama dismissed the news as unfounded and ludicrous, emphasizing that the unique nature of DSS salaries and allowances sets them apart from conventional civil servants.

He stated, “The intention of the purveyors of the fake news is to cause disaffection between the officers and the DG.”
Oba Makama highlighted that the appointment of the DSS Director General is within the prerogative of the President, and any changes are at his discretion.
Emphasizing the paramount importance of national security, the monarch called for a demonstration of patriotism among Nigerians to address the prevailing challenges in the country.
He urged those spreading disinformation to cease their activities and emphasized the need for unity in safeguarding the nation.
