The Ondo State government has issued a stern warning to civil servants in the state to refrain from engaging in partisan politics ahead of the upcoming governorship election.
The Head of Service, Bayo Philip, speaking on behalf of the government, urged civil servants to adhere strictly to the principles of public service and avoid any form of electoral campaign or activity.
Philip made this statement during the commencement of the 2024 promotion exercise for civil servants in the state.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining neutrality and professionalism among workers, advising them to focus on their duties and responsibilities as civil servants.
“This is an election year. Do your job. You are civil servants and have nothing to do with partisan politics. Engage your mind more than you engage your mouth,” Philip emphasized.
Despite the warning, Philip announced that over 4,200 workers who are due for promotion would be promoted in the state.
He added that Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa had approved the promotion of all deserving officers, along with the associated financial benefits.
