Reports have it that unidentified gunmen took over some polling units in Delta State, shooting citizens they suspect to be members of a rival political party.
The bad incident took place during the collation of election outcome in some polling units in Ughelli South local government area of the state.
One Nigerian was shot to death while several others escaped with gunshot injuries and matchete wounds.
The identity of the individual that lost his life is still unknown, but he left the world at Iwhrekan community when he was immediately rushed to the hospital but failed to make it.
Shockingly, the PDP Delta Central campaign chairman, Chief Fred Majemite, revealed that elections were peaceful and the voters turned up in large numbers.
His words, “What happened in the last election would not happen again, so this time around the people are ensuring that their votes count.”
Although, The Ughelli North II APC candidate, Chief Jaro Egbo said turnout was low but was very confident that his party will come out tops.
His words, “The voting response is very low, where you have about 1000 registered voters, and you have votes less than 200 or 300, you will see that they are not up to 30 percent but am hopefully I am going to be the next lawmaker representing the constituency.”
