One of the three housewives abducted along the Takum-Katsina-Ala road in Takum local government area of Taraba State has escaped from the kidnappers’ den.
The woman, identified as Amina Adamu, reportedly escaped while the kidnappers were asleep.
Confirming the incident on Monday, a relative of Amina’s husband revealed that two other housewives, including the daughter of a retired army general, remain in captivity.

It was also reported that two emissaries sent to deliver ransom for the release of the housewives were also held hostage.
Residents of Takum, who confirmed Amina’s escape, expressed their dismay over the persistent kidnappings in the area.
They highlighted the frequent abductions along the Takum-Katsina-Ala road and called for the deployment of security operatives to the region.
Bello Haruna, a resident, stated that travelling along the road has become increasingly dangerous due to the activities of kidnappers and bandits.
He urged the governments of Taraba and Benue States to implement measures to curb the criminal activities terrorizing travelers.
The Acting Spokesperson of the Taraba State Police Command could not confirm Amina’s escape but promised to provide an update after consulting with the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in Takum.
