…To detain illegally over trump-up charges
…Alleges Osun AG, wife Connection
A civil group, the Civil Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun State (CSCEOS) has raised an alarm that the State governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola had concluded arrangement to clampdown the opposition leaders in the State into illegal detention over trumped-up charge ahead of Osun West Senatorial bye-election slated to hold on July 8th, 2017 by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
It however alleged that the State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ajibola Bashiru has been prepared in the process of this illegal action which some security agents would be coerced in achieving this illegal action, adding that any opposition leader arrested would be charged with the alleged threat to the security of the State and took them before the Magistrate Court presiding over by Magistrate Habibat Bashiru, the wife of the State Attorney-General.
The group also alleged that Mr. Aregbesola had concluded plan to divert the recently released second tranches of the London-Paris Club refunds to the State by not using the funds to clear the 12 to 13 months arrears of pensions and workers’ salary and backlog of eight (8) years of gratuities as agreed by the States with the Federal Government, alleging that part of the funds had been set aside to be spent on the forthcoming bye-election in the State.
Addressing the mammoth crowd of Civil society groups and Pensioners on Thursday during the protest that began from Popular Onisekere Junction, Aiyetoro, Osogbo, and the peaceful demonstration took the protesters along Igbona, Olonkoro, Ajegunle, Old Garage, MDS area and ended at Popular Olaiya Junction where they caused traffic gridlock along all these roads, the CSCEOS’s Chairman, Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sulaiman, listed those opposition leaders to be arrested on trump-up charge by Aregbesola as factional Ruling APC leader, Alhaji Fatai Diekola Oyedele, former Head of Service, Elder Segun Akinwusi, Bishop Seun Adeoye, Comrade Adeniyi,Alimi Sulaiman,CSCEOS’s Secretary, Comrade Ebenezer Oladapo, Justice Olamide Oloyede, former State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Sunday Akeere, State Chairman of CNPP, Pastor Popoola Olatunji and some leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in the State.
Comrade Sulaiman urged the people of the State to ask Aregbesola the duty of private Financial Consulting firms; including; Infinity, Alpha-Beta, Kajola and Charms in the affairs of the finances of the State, alleging that the aforementioned firms were being used by Aregbesola to siphon the meager resources of the State to Lagos State, calling for the immediate disengagement of these firms from the State.
Also speaking at the rally, the immediate past State Head of Service, Elder Segun Akinwusi declared that all the resources; including Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), Federal Allocation and special funds accrued to the State have been squandered by Aregbesola’s administration, saluting the courage of the Civil society groups and pensioners which they came out in large number to expose the ongoing maladministration in the State.
Speaking further, the right activist who used the traditional medicine to curse all the supporters of Aregbesola and his tyrannical government at Ajegunle Market, Osogbo, advised the people of the State, especially, the people of Osun West Senatorial district to use the forthcoming bye-election as the beginning of the State liberation from the present Lagos invaders, impostors and usurpers led by Rauf Aregbesola, urging the people of the State to use their votes to end the fraudulent Aregbesola’s administration.
He disclosed that all the efforts of Mr. Aregbesola and his team to rig the forthcoming Osun west bye-election and 2018 guber election in the State would be thwarted by the army of the masses, insisting that Aregbesola has been working round the clock to rig the forthcoming bye-election at all cost by colliding with the officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the State.
His words: “I want to use this medium to advise my good people of Osun West Senatorial district to use their votes to reject Rauf Aregbesola and his anointed candidate in the bye-election by ensuring that the good work and philanthropic gestures of our late leader and the first Executive Governor of the State, Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke were sustained through his biological younger brother, Dr. Ademola Adeleke. There is no honour the people of the State could give to Late Isiaka Adeleke than to vote enmass for his biological brother on July 8th, 2017 for Senatorial seat”.
Comrade Adeniyi, Alimi Sulaiman,
Chairman, Civil Societies Coalition for the Emancipation of Osun State (CSCEOS)
