Osun decides: INEC uploads 37% of election results to IReV

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded 37 per cent of the results from the Osun State governorship election to its Result Viewing Portal (IReV).

The development came as the collation of results from polling units across the state continued following Saturday’s governorship election.

The uploaded results allow voters, political parties, observers and other stakeholders to view results transmitted from polling units electronically.

INEC’s electronic results system is designed to enhance transparency and enable the public to independently verify results recorded at polling units.

The commission has continued the uploading process as results are received and processed from various parts of the state.

The Osun governorship election featured candidates from several political parties, with the major contenders campaigning extensively across the state before the poll.

INEC officials and election personnel have also commenced the collation of results in accordance with the established electoral procedure.

Political parties and their agents are expected to monitor the collation process and raise any concerns through the appropriate channels.

The commission has urged stakeholders to remain patient and allow the official collation process to be completed before drawing conclusions on the final outcome of the election.

The final result will be declared by the returning officer after the collation of results from the various local government areas.
