Osun election is between Adeleke and Tinubu – Dele Momodu

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dele Momodu, has described the Osun State governorship election as a contest between Governor Ademola Adeleke and President Bola Tinubu.

Momodu made the statement while assessing the political dynamics surrounding the governorship election and the strength of the major political parties involved in the contest.

According to him, the election has assumed a wider political significance because of the involvement and influence of the two major political camps.

He said the contest was no longer simply about the candidates seeking the governorship but had become a battle involving the political interests of Adeleke and Tinubu.

Momodu urged voters to consider the performance of the incumbent administration and the alternatives presented by other political parties before casting their ballots.

He also called on political actors and their supporters to avoid violence, intimidation and inflammatory rhetoric throughout the electoral process.

The PDP chieftain stressed the importance of allowing residents to freely choose their preferred candidate without pressure or interference.

He urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to maintain neutrality and ensure that every eligible voter is given the opportunity to participate in the election.

Momodu maintained that the outcome of the poll would have implications beyond Osun State, particularly for the broader political realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections.
