Independent National Electoral Commission INEC Bye Election in NigeriaA women rights activist, Mrs. Adeola Adeyemi has warned the authority of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) against playing hanky-panky in their dealings with the African Democratic Party (ADC),alleging the electoral body of insincerity in their preparation of the forthcoming guber poll in the State.

Mrs. Adeyemi also alleged that the electoral umpire was planning to rig out the party (ADC) and its candidates from the governorship race, threatening to use the democratic means of approaching the court of competent jurisdiction to seek redress.

In a signed statement by Adeyemi and copies were made available to newsmen at the weekend, She observed that since emergency of the retired Justice Olamide Folahanmi Oloyede as Deputy governorship candidate of the ADC, the Commission has begun the playing of political card of ruling party to disqualify the incorruptible jurist and her party from the forthcoming guber race in Osun State.

The Women activist who strongly condemned the recent omission of the name of Justice Oloyede as deputy governorship candidate of the African Democratic Party (ADC) in the Commission’s bulletin after the leadership of the party had done the necessary constitutional step of nominating her name for the position.

Mrs. Adeyemi, who is Executive Director, Women Advancement Development Initiative (WADI), recalled that the Commission had earlier made an avoidable error by not including the party (ADC) and its logo in the recent released pre-election specimen to the affected political parties in the State.

According to her,”INEC earlier deliberate omission of retired Justice Olamide Folahanmi Oloyede’s name as ADC’ deputy gubernatorial candidate from the list of contestants for the forthcoming guber poll, has brought confusion into the ADC camp which made Oloyede’s supporters across the length and breadth of the State to begin to be panicked.
