President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has said Osun State should be performing better, given the financial resources accruing to the state from the Federal Government.
Akpabio made the remark while speaking about the development and governance of the state ahead of the Osun State governorship election.

The Senate President argued that the state has continued to receive significant financial allocations from the Federal Government and should be able to translate the resources into improved infrastructure and better living conditions for residents.
He urged the people of Osun to carefully assess the performance of successive administrations and determine whether the resources available to the state have been properly utilised.
Akpabio also called on residents to participate actively in the electoral process and make informed decisions when choosing their next governor.
The Senate President stressed the importance of accountability in the management of public funds, saying government officials must be able to explain how resources allocated to the state are being spent.
He urged voters to focus on issues of development, infrastructure, security and economic opportunities rather than allowing political sentiments to determine their choices.
Akpabio’s comments came on the eve of the Osun governorship election, as political parties intensified their final mobilisation efforts across the state.
He called on all stakeholders to maintain peace and allow the election to take place without violence or intimidation.
