Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State delivered an uplifting message during the 2024 state prayer event held in Osogbo on Tuesday.
He declared that the state has been liberated from past challenges, attributing this victory to the prayers of religious leaders and residents.
Adeleke expressed gratitude for the interdenominational prayer held in 2023, stating that it played a significant role in the current positive state of affairs.

Reflecting on the challenging beginning of his tenure, he recounted the trials faced upon assuming office and the concerted effort to navigate through a hostile environment.
“In those turbulent days, we had sought the Lord’s help to calm the troubled waters of state governance. We fervently prayed for divine victory as we entered office in a deeply hostile environment,” Adeleke stated.
“Today, I am overjoyed to stand before you to proclaim that our state is free from the bonds of the past.”
The governor emphasized the role of faith in his leadership, sharing personal experiences of seeking divine guidance in decision-making. He highlighted the challenges inherited from his predecessor, including deliberate obstacles designed to impede progress.
Despite these hurdles, Adeleke credited divine intervention for the positive transformations witnessed under his administration.
“Our leadership is a product of divine plan and manifestation,” he affirmed. “Because we have a God who does not fail His beloved ones, doors opened where none existed.”
The governor outlined key achievements, including policy innovations, workers’ welfare initiatives, pensioners’ support, and infrastructure development.
He attributed these accomplishments to divine favor, emphasizing the impact of a faith-guided approach to governance.
The event, attended by religious leaders, traditional rulers, and civil servants, marked a hopeful beginning for Osun State in the new year.
