Liverpool coach, Jurgen Klopp has described his team’s win over Spurs as “slightly ugly,” while still hailing his boys for securing the points.
The Reds went back to the top of the league after a 90th-minute Toby Alderweireld own goal sealed a hard-fought victory.
His words, “There are 500 ways to win a football game, today was slightly ugly. That’s how it is, who cares at the end. That’s the situation,”
Mo Salah also praised the Anfield crowd, saying that “they just really want to win the Premier League and we’ll do everything to make that happen.
“Big teams always find a way to get the points. Maybe in the second half we didn’t play at the top of our game but we won the game and that’s the most important thing. That’s a big team — you always have to find a way to win and that’s what we did.”
“The three points are the most important thing — if they give the goal to me is not very important, I don’t care if not,” Salah said. “I didn’t score for a couple of games, OK. I just play and I want to win the Premier League, that’s the most important thing for me.”
On if Van Dijk was presently injured, Klopp said, “We have to see. I asked him and I think it was in the counter-attack situation when Sissoko hit him… I don’t know if he twisted it or it is a knock,”
“He was walking to the interviews with a big ice pack. I hope it’s nothing serious but I don’t know yet.”
