Nigeria, Africa’s largest economy and Pakistan, South Asia’s second largest economy have agreed to collaborate on war against terror.
Both countries have been experiencing strong economic growth in recent times, but are however faced with insurgency, with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan unleashing terror in the Asian country and Boko Haram in Nigeria.
They are however equally poised to improve their bilateral trade from the current level of below $100m, to $1bn in the next five years.
The revelation came to the fore when President Goodluck Jonathan signed bilateral trade agreement with his counterpart from Pakistan. President Maroon Hussain at the Presidential Villa.
Jonathan described the visit of Hussain as a good development because it was the first ever state visit by any Parkistani President.
He emphasised that the bilateral discussions between the duo, was based on issues of common interest.
The president noted that just like Nigeria is suffering from terror attack, Pakistan too is experiencing terror attack.
