PDP BoT Demands Bayelsa Party Chairman’s Resignation | #Politics

PDP1The embattled Peoples Democratic Party Chairman in Bayelsa State, Col. Sam Inokoba (retd.) has been asked to resign by the party’s Board of Trustees, Special Adviser to Governor Seriake Dickson on Political Matters, Mr. Fyneman Wilson, has said.
Wilson, who stated this at a news conference in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa State capital on Friday, said people misconstrued the decision of the BoT members at the meeting where it was resolved that members who were suspended and expelled, but yet to defect to other parties, had been pardoned.
He, however, said the decision did not affect Inokoba, whose matter bordered on alleged embezzlement of party funds.
Those who attended the news conference were Chief of Staff, Bayelsa State Government House, Chief Talford Ongolo; the state Commissioner for Information, Esueme Dan-Kikile; and his Works and Infrastructure counterpart, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpor, among others.
Wilson claimed Inokoba was asked by the BoT members led by its Acting Chairman, Mohammed Bello, at a meeting presided over by former President Goodluck Jonathan, to step down as chairman because of alleged misappropriation of funds meant for presidential campaign, which were levelled against him.
The political adviser said with the decision by the BoT, Inokoba had ceased to be the state chairman of the party, adding that the responsibilities of conducting the party’s primaries had therefore fallen on the acting chairman, Chief Serena Dokubo-Spiff.
He said, “I was at the meeting where the BoT members, former President Goodluck Jonathan, Chief Amalate Turner and others asked Inokoba to resign”.
