The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) cannot resurrect from its death and rejection by Nigerians in nearly most parts of the country, particularly Kaduna State.
This was the assertion of the state’s Commissioner for Local Government, Muhammed Bashir Saidu, who noted that corruption and misrule killed the PDP in Nigeria.
Saidu, who is the immediate past Kaduna State Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), said the present government will soon commence arraignment of treasury looters who stole state funds.
“PDP can say anything but what the masses know is that PDP is dead and buried. The party has gone forever and for the good of Kaduna State and Nigeria in general. PDP will never resurrect in Nigeria. If PDP did not win elections when they were in power with all the government machinery, how can they win? What I know is that, the party short changed Nigerians and there is no way PDP will come back to power.
“For example in Kaduna State, the past administration of PDP awarded contracts and collected the money without doing the job. The revelations we are getting about the activities of PDP last administration will shock you. The monumental stealing that took place by the PDP administration is under investigation and we will soon hand over looters to security agencies for arraignment,” he said.
“PDP had earmarked money for projects and stole the money left, right and centre. We don’t want the culprits to run away, therefore we can’t mention names. We have already invited EFCC to open an office in Kaduna State so that if we catch looters we will hand them over.
“PDP did not get 30 percent of votes cast in the last election, so how can the party resurrect when they stole all the money when they were in charge. Even if electoral body organise elections today PDP can’t win because the party stole its goodwill from Nigerians in the last 16 years of mis-rule,” Saidu said.
He expressed confidence that the steps so far taken by the Governor Nasir El-Rufai led-APC administration will rekindle hope for the common man.
