Tola Alabere, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State, has assured that the party is dedicated to rescuing the state from its current challenges if it emerges victorious in the upcoming governorship election.
Speaking at a one-day seminar organized for the media aides of PDP governorship aspirants in the state, Alabere emphasized the importance of unity among party members to present a strong front against the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election.
Alabere stressed that unity within the party is crucial for success at the polls, urging party members to focus on bringing aspirants together rather than creating divisions.
He stated, “I don’t see the PDP as an opposition party in the state because we’re supposed to be in government.
The roles all of you are playing today are not geared towards bringing the aspirants together. If aspirant ‘A’ wins the primary, he will need the support and cooperation of other aspirants.
“The moment you come in between your principal and other aspirants, will they be ready to support him when he wins? So, you have a major role to play in uniting the party.”
Alabere urged the media aides to conserve their energy and focus on uniting the party, rather than creating divisions that could benefit the APC.
He concluded by appealing to them to see the project as their own and work towards the success of the party in the upcoming election.
