The Delta State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Peter Mrakpor, has dismissed claims that a court injunction is restraining the party from holding its national convention scheduled for March 29–30, 2026, in Abuja.
Mrakpor, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), made the clarification amid growing speculation and reports suggesting that the convention could be stalled by legal challenges.
According to him, the party is fully prepared to proceed with the exercise as planned, stressing that there is no legal impediment to the convention.

He noted that all necessary arrangements for the event remain intact and urged delegates from Delta State to disregard what he described as “rumour mongers.”
The PDP chairman also accused those spreading the claims of attempting to create confusion and undermine the party’s internal processes.
Mrakpor reaffirmed the party’s commitment to a smooth and successful convention, insisting that no court order exists to halt the exercise.
“Our convention will hold as scheduled. There is no court injunction. The claims are false and misleading,” he said.
