The 12 governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have resolved to challenge the suspension of Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, in court.
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, disclosed this decision on Friday after an emergency meeting of the PDP Governors’ Forum.
According to him, the governors unanimously agreed to resist what they described as an “illegality and presidential rascality.”

Democracy Must Be Protected – Makinde
Makinde emphasized that regardless of political affiliations or personal loyalties, democracy must be upheld. He insisted that the suspension of Governor Fubara and the Rivers State legislature was unconstitutional.
“Irrespective of our feelings and loyalties, democracy must be protected at all costs. The suspension of a duly elected governor and an entire legislative arm is not only illegal but also a dangerous precedent,” Makinde stated.
The PDP governors are expected to take legal action in the coming days to challenge the move by the National Assembly and President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
