    PDP Govs Adopt Jonathan As Presidential Candidate For 2015

    400f700d5f761cd5de084039d0e30296The ruling Peoples Democratic Party Governors on Wednesday endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan as their sole candidate for the 2015 presidential election.

    The governors, under the platform of PDP Governors Forum, took the decision after their meeting which held at the Akwa Ibom State Governor’s Lodge, Abuja.

    Chairman of the forum and Akwa Ibom State Governor, Chief Godswill Akpabio, stated this while briefing journalists after the meeting.

    He said this decision was not challenged by any of the governors who were in attendance at the meeting.

    “The Forum hereby endorses President Jonathan for a second term in office and resolved to support his bid for re-election come 2015”, he said.

    Present at the meeting were Godswill Akpabio (Akwa Ibom), Sullivan Chime (Enugu), Jonah Jang (Plateau), Seriake Dickson (Bayelsa), Theodore Orji (Abia), Ibrahim Dankwambo (Gombe), Idris Wada (Kogi), Liyel Imoke (Cross River), Emmanuel Uduaghan (Delta), Ramalan Yero (Kaduna), Gabriel Suswam (Benue), Babangida Aliyu (Niger), Saidu Dakingari ( Kebbi); Ahmadu Fintiri and Umar Garba (acting governors of Adamawa and Taraba respectively); Mahmoud Gumel, Abdullahi Faskari, Mukhtar Shagari, and Damishi Luka, deputy governors of Jigawa, Katsina, Sokoto and Nasarawa states respectively.
