Unhappy with the statement made by PDP chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, Buhari’s social media aide, Mrs Lauretta Onochie has referred to PDP a ‘useless’ party.
Remember that the President traveled to the UK on a private visit, just after he commissioned some developmental projects made by Borno state governor, Kashim Shettima last week.
Hearing about the UK trip, Mr Uche Secondus said Buhari embarked on a ‘voyage unknown’, and then accused him of abandoning his main assignment, which is to safeguard life and properties of Nigerians.
He said, “Eight local government areas of Katsina State, which is Buhari’s home state, have been overtaken by bandits.
“Insecurity has risen to a level where people question if there is still government in Nigeria”.
As a reaction, on Twitter, Mrs Lauretta described the opposition party as a useless party that keeps looking for stories to cook up.
Yesterday as well, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr Garba Shehu, revealed that Buhari’s visit was short and he informing the National Assembly would’ve been unnecessary.
His words, “No that is not necessary. The President can exercise authority from wherever he is as he is currently doing.
“This is a relatively short absence. If you check Section 145 (1) and (2) of the Constitution, you will see that the law is only infringed upon when such absence extends to 21 days.”
