The national Leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has postponed the party’s National Convention, earlier slated for December 6, to December 10 and 11.
The party also yesterday extended the submission of expression of interest and nomination forms by President Goodluck Jonathan for the 2015 presidential election by one week. Submission of expression of interest and nomination forms for governorship aspirants was also extended by one week.
According to Vanguard, the ruling party has also postponed its governorship primary election to December 8 and has the Senate primaries till December 7.
The party had in the 2014 guidelines released after the 66th National Executive Committee meeting, fixed the governorship primary election for November 29 while the Senate primary election would have taken place November 22.
President Jonathan had earlier been expected to submit his nomination and expression of interest forms yesterday, but with the new timetable released by the party, Jonathan will now submit his forms on November 15. Governorship aspirants will submit their forms on November 14.
