In view of the present disagreement between Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association (PENGASSAN) and the Federal Government on the implementation of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS), the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has embarked on an industrial action, which has spelled rumours of fuel scarcity.

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has therefore dispelled rumours of fuel scarcity and assured the public that, the industrial action won’t affect the distribution of petroleum products.
According to the General Manager, of the Group Public Affairs Division of the Corporation, Mr Obateru, the industrial action embarked upon by PENGASSAN would not lead to scarcity of petroleum products as all fuel stations and petrol depots accross the country have enough stock of petroleum products to satisfy the need of consumers.
The NNPC General Managing Director, Mr Kyari, has reaffirmed that NNPC will ensure that there won’t be long queues for fuel during this year’, end-of-year festivities determined to make the 2020 end-of-year festivities.
Mr Kyari further stated that stockholders in the petroleum products supply and distribution chain i.e tanker drivers, depot owners and road transport owners have been assembled to achieve this aim.
