Mexican forward, Hirving Lozano has come out to open up on his Napoli nightmare under Gennaro Gattuso. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, he cried in despair at one stage because he just kept getting benched even when his performances were better than those starting games.
Lozano added that Gattuso did not even know who he was and he never asked him about anything.
His words, “He didn’t know me, he didn’t even know where I played, but he never asked me anything. You know when you’re a soccer player that there are moments when you say: ‘Wow! Things aren’t going well here.’ It never changed me.”
I was always on the bench and that was when I said: ‘There is something here.’ Then, that year was terrible, I cried with my wife in despair. You realise that you are better than many there and you ask yourself ‘Why don’t they give me minutes? Why don’t they let me play?'”
