Professor Wole Soyinka has advised President Muhammadu Buhari to be cautious in sending out congratulatory messages.
Addressing journalists on Monday, December 5, 2016, the Nobel Laureate advised that President Buhari should be wary of sending congratulatory messages like he did to the outgoing President of The Gambia, Alhaji Yahya Jammeh.
President Buhari had lauded Jammeh for conceding defeat to the incoming President, Mr. Adama Barrow.
However, Soyinka sees no need for the congratulatory message saying that Jammeh, who ruled for 22 years, represented sit-tight African leaders.
Soyinka recently revealed plans to formally exit the United States, where he had been living since years of Sani Abacha reign.
