Social media went agog recently when it was reported that President Buhari went to the United Nations General Assembly meeting with over 80 delegates.
Another issue that was on the front burner was the presence of Buhari’s daughters at the sessions with their mother and first lady of Nigeria, Aisha Buhari.
The presidency has however come out to debunk claims that the President’s daughters’ tickets were paid for, by the Federal Government.
Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu, on his Twitter timeline, said “None of President @MBuhari’s children now with the family in New York traveled on government tickets.”
Buhari met with President Barack Obama on the sidelines of the UN sessions.
Obama commended the President’s economic reforms, describing it as “bold”.
Buhari also called on global leaders to help raise $14b for the restoration of Lake Chad Basin.
