According to the statement, anyone found brandishing weapons, participating in violent processions or engaging in acts capable of causing fear or panic among residents would be dealt with in accordance with the law.
The police also urged parents and guardians to caution their children and wards against associating with unlawful groups or taking part in any activities connected to the planned celebration.
The command further appealed to proprietors of hotels, lounges, event centres, bars and other recreational facilities not to allow their premises to be used for cult-related gatherings.
It warned that anyone found aiding, harbouring or providing support to criminal elements would be arrested and prosecuted.
