A statement signed by the State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Collins Adebayo, on Sunday, said Ohere was rescued from the kidnappers’ den on Saturday after intensive manhunt.
According to Adebayo, the local government official was abducted from his Agassa home in Okene Local Government Area of the state by about 10 gunmen.
He was, however, rescued eight days later in Adavi by combined security agencies.
The statement added that the kidnappers abandoned the official Toyota Hilux van with which they abducted Ohere, when they discovered that the security agencies were closing in on them.
