President Bola Tinubu and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke on the phone about the recent revolution in Gabon that overthrew President Ali Bongo.
Journalists in Abuja were made aware of the phone call on Wednesday by Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.
According to him, the two heads of state talked extensively on the importance of bolstering constitutional democracies across Africa.

During their discussion, both heads of state reportedly stressed the need of maintaining a democratic form of government.
According to Ngelale, President Bola Tinubu spoke at length with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau about the problem in Niger Republic and the developing situation in Gabon.
In a joint statement, the two leaders said, “The promotion and protection of constitutional democratic governance on the continent remains a paramount priority and that the people of Africa living in the Diaspora around the world, making a huge impact on the sociopolitical landscapes of countries around the world and the economies of countries around the world, continue to urge the global community to advance the cause of democracy on the continent for the sake of the ec.”
It is therefore of paramount significance to know that His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, will keep communicating with other international leaders outside of the African Union.
