Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, asked Nigerians on Tuesday to temper their expectations for Wednesday’s ruling from the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal.
His press secretary, Oluwatosin Osho, released the statement.
He also said that Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP), will lose in court.

He also urged the case’s potential losers to keep the peace and prevent more anarchy in the country.
The verdict will not go Peter Obi’s and his followers’ way, says Ayodele. He has no chance of winning in the tribunal, and as I’ve already indicated, the worst that can happen is a new election, or things will simply stay the same.
Losers should not incite a nationwide uprising simply because they did not win a particular case.
“As it stands, it’s still uncertain; a do-over is by no means guaranteed; but God can change anything. Most Nigerians would be dissatisfied with the electoral tribunal’s decision, and they shouldn’t put too much stock in it since the powers that be aren’t going to let justice win.
It won’t be an easy road to reverse the results of the presidential election, as they are committed to clinging to power at all costs. If the opposition lets Tinubu win the election, the judiciary cannot remove him from office, as I have said before.
The prophet also exhorted the judges to protect national harmony by doing justice regardless of who or anything is trying to stop it.
Judiciary has the power to improve or destroy a nation. Already there is tension in the country, and the best they can do is make justice prevail no matter the cost or the extent of the threats. He also stressed the need of the judges exercising discretion in their rulings.
