FREMONT, CA and DUBLIN, IRELAND–(Marketwired – Feb 17, 2014) – Openet, a global leader of telecom business solutions and services, and Procera Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: PKT), the global Internet Intelligence company, will demonstrate their joint Revenue Express solution in a virtualized environment at Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona.
Revenue Express is the industry’s first end-to-end turnkey Policy and Charging Control (PCC) solution. A virtualized environment enables the solution to dynamically scale, empowering operators to elastically expand to meet demand as well as to manage network updates and maintenance requirements without impacting subscriber experiences.
Combining Openet’s Policy Manager and Procera’s Intelligent Policy Enforcement capabilities, the solution proves the advantages of network functions virtualization (NFV) at the mobile core. Elasticity is a key benefit for operators because the capacity dedicated to each network function can now be dynamically modified according to actual load on the network.
“Virtualization represents a strategic shift in the telecom industry and we are investing significantly to remain at the forefront of this transition,” said Chris Hoover, GVP of Marketing at Openet. “Our support for virtualized infrastructure helps operators to decrease total costs of ownership, accelerate time to market and drive agility in their respective markets.”
“Procera has been at the leading edge of virtualization with our participation in the ETSI Network Functions Virtualization Industry Specification Group, and our public demonstrations of our NFV capabilities,” said Cam Cullen, Vice President of Global Marketing at Procera Networks. “Virtualization opens up new options for service creation and deployment for operators that increases their service velocity and flexibility.”
Policy use cases of the virtualized solution include service plan provisioning and enforcement of tiered service and service passes which allow operators to accelerate data monetization by introducing segmented pricing that aligns network usage with revenue.
Procera and Openet will demonstrate Revenue Express’ NFV capabilities at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona February 24-27 at Procera’s stand # 5J30.
