Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for Russian President Vladimir Putin, said on Friday that Putin would not be attending the G20 conference in New Delhi on September 9-10.
The official Kremlin news source Tass said that a spokeswoman denied any plans by the president.
Peskov said the details of Putin’s involvement would be worked out at a later date.

Putin was not present for the in-person BRICS Summit that was held in Johannesburg. Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov spoke on his behalf.
Putin skipped the first in-person BRICS meeting following Covid-19 because an arrest warrant was issued for him in March by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for an alleged plan to relocate Ukrainian minors to Russia.
As a member of the International Criminal Court (ICC), South Africa was supposed to aid in Putin’s arrest if he ever visited the country.
