Massimiliano Allegri has promised to field his strongest team against AC Milan on Saturday and not rest anybody ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League quarterfinal with Real Madrid.
“We’re still a bit annoyed about the two points dropped in Ferrara,” Allegri told a news conference. “We threw away our bonus. Milan have won their last five and it’s going to be an even game, so we’ll have to think of Real from Monday.
“That’s a game against the best team in the world and we’ve got to have the ambition to beat them and be involved in a major global event, but our objective is to win the league.
“The present is now and tomorrow our best players will play. Napoli only have one thing left to play for.
“They’re out of everything else and I think this year is too important for them because they know next year will be harder. They’ve got to put everything into winning it this year.”
A disagreement with Allegri last season may have contributed to his decision to leave the Bianconeri, but the Juve coach says that is water under the bridge and he will be the first to welcome Bonucci back to the Allianz Stadium.
“Leo gave Juventus a lot,” Allegri said. “He made a choice this summer and wanted a change of scenery, but he still has a place in the hearts of Juventus fans.
“He’s got a bond with [Gianluigi] Buffon, [Andrea] Barzagli and [Giorgio] Chiellini — a historic defence — but he’s made his choice and we face him as opponents tomorrow.
