On Tuesday, the Lagos appeals court upheld the election of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Hon. Ibori-Suenu Erhiatake to represent the Ethiope Federal Constituency in Delta State.
The election held on February 25 was called a victory for Erhiatake, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Ben Rolands Igbakpa of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) and Mr. Halims Ahoda of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have filed legal challenges to the results of the election.

On Tuesday in Lagos, the three-judge panel consisting of Justice Festus Ogbuinaya, Justice Senchi, and Justice Waziri affirmed the tribunal’s decision to recognize the PDP candidate as the rightful victor of the election.
Delta State’s former governor, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, has a daughter named Ibori-Suenu Erhiatake.
Erhiatake, in a statement released on Tuesday, hailed the court of appeal’s decision as a triumph for God and her citizens.
