Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, and the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in Rivers State, Kingsley Chinda, have met with Governor Siminalayi Fubara and members of his political camp in Port Harcourt.
The closed-door meeting, which lasted about four hours, brought together supporters and key political figures from the two camps as efforts to consolidate the emerging reconciliation in Rivers State continue.

Wike and Chinda arrived at the governor’s residence at about 4pm on Tuesday with their supporters and joined Fubara and members of his camp for the discussions.
The meeting ended around 8pm, but the participants did not address journalists afterwards, leaving the specific details and outcome of the discussions undisclosed.
The engagement comes after years of political disagreements that created divisions among Rivers political actors and supporters, including the prolonged dispute between Fubara and members of the state House of Assembly.
It was also the first known occasion on which Fubara personally participated in a reconciliation meeting involving his supporters and Wike’s political camp.
The meeting followed earlier efforts by a reconciliation committee led by former Senator Magnus Abe to bring the various political interests together. The committee had previously held meetings with Fubara as part of efforts to accommodate his supporters in the emerging political arrangement.
The development also comes against the backdrop of preparations for the 2027 general elections, with political actors in Rivers State intensifying consultations and realignments.
Wike had recently said Fubara had returned to the political family that produced him as governor, while expressing readiness to work together toward the 2027 elections.
However, neither side disclosed whether the latest meeting produced any specific agreement beyond the broader reconciliation efforts.
The latest engagement is expected to further test the durability of the rapprochement among the political camps as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
